I've done some crazy stuff with the stock bumper. But if you're looking for something to tow with just get a reese hitch installed.

I just heard from the Ford body shop I had my truck towed to. The initial inspection shows the trucks repairs being at about 50-60 percent of the trucks value the guy says. He has the fender, and front filler panel (under the headlights) as damaged but repairable, and then they'll need to be repainted. The front bumper can be repaired and buffed, and the upper bumper cushion will be replaced whatever that is. And he said something about buffing the headlight ring but I don't think that even had anything wrong with it. And the suspension hasn't been checked yet, it's headed to the alignment machine now. Basically if it only needs an alignment and some bushings it's going to be all fixed. From what he said it sounds like if it needs any major suspension parts they might total the truck out. We'll see by tonight hopefully!

Can I change this forum title for this one post? What did your truck do to you today? Well, I was getting out of the bed of the truck. I put my right leg on the bumper and then started to swing my left leg over the tail gate when my right foot slipped, my leg went down on the right exhaust tip, and I went tumbling down. I looked down and blood was gushing out of the wound. One trip to the emergency room later :/

Replaced upper radiator hose and filled coolant. Lost water pump awhile back and evidently didn't get it refilled quite all the way again. Took about a gallon and 3/4's lol. Yes I know that's a lot.

Cleaned my throttle body and iac this afternoon... my intake manifold is GUNKED out! This beast probably hasn't been broken into for all 183k miles. Wouldn't at all surprise me if that's part of my problem. Cleaning the TB/IAC seemed to help a little (definitely needed it!), but hopefully getting the leaks fixed in my NEW exhaust will git r done.

Also pulling several EGR codes so I guess i'll have to poke around with that this weekend and see what's up.

65mechanic- Hope your ok there and that leg heals up quick. Me and Ol' Hoss helped some girls out today at college. They're working on an art project and needed some things picked up from Lowes. Really made her work for the pennies today. Hauled a half pallet of stepping stones and then came back to get 8 bags of mulch and about 12 bags of sand/stone and some paint. Got my first real experience pulling a decent load besides wood today. With that 300 you'd think there was only a tackle box and some poles in the bed.
