I have owned more 10th gens then I care to count and put hundreds or thousand miles on 11th gen company trucks and I'll say this. The 11th gen trucks are great but the. 10th gen 5.4s are better! They last longer and have plenty of power. Go for a 10th gen and you won't be disappointed! Here's the current 3 I own.

I would have to say go with the spacers, they level your truck more than the moog springs. I put the moog springs in mine after I was I satisfied with the spacers, and with the springs my front end dropped an inch from the spacers.

water pump
I thought about doing that when I changed the thermostat, which was the original that came with the truck. I don't know, something on the order of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". My water pump is the original pump that came with the truck when we bought it new in April 1989.
Thinking about changing out the air conditions system. If I do that, probably change the water pump at that time since the compressor will be out of there.
Other than taking 3 hours, any special thing to look out for?

Checked timing set up on 1989 F150 5.0L 4x4

I had read that there is a problem with the outer ring of the harmonic balancer sliding on the rubber ring so that the timing marks turn out to be in the wrong place. So, I pulled the number one plug, put a 24 mm socket on the harmonic balancer bolt, and used a bamboo skewer to feel the piston, and found top-dead center. Turned out that, so far as I could tell, the marks are right where they are supposed to be.
Also examined distributor cap, rotor, and each spark plug wire and tested spark with HEI tester.

TLC for 1989 F150 5.0L 4x4
Truck is running great for the first time in at least 5 years. Took to very reliable local muffler shop to have exhaust system checked for leaks and O2 sensor checked. Also having air conditioner system checked to see if it can be repaired or needs replacement. If needs replacement, I will do all the labor myself and muffler shop will do the charging for me cheap.
