In a race truck it's not rust.
It's weight removal. LOL

It's a Canadian thing eh!
Filling up the other day, and halfway through the front tank I realized I was filling with 89 instead of 87. Ohh well no harm done, only a 0.08 price difference but I did notice that the temp was up 15 deg then normal, my mpg dropped by 2 then normal and the slight ping I had before was coming and going.
So today I re-timed the truck, had It at 14 deg BTDC and went down to 12. Truck runs much better and no more ping under load but the ping had developed on its own for some reason.
I also cleaned up my front brakes as I was getting a brake pull to the right. Figure I'll get another year from them till I changed them but I may have to replace the caliper as I'm still getting a pull to the right. Didn't seem like the pins or pistons were seized but the caliper might be hanging up.
The rear shoes are beginning to crack and the drums have about reached their limit to turn them so those will also be replaced when I do the fronts.
