Default Weird problem in my book!

I own a 93 f150xlt it has a 302 with a E4OD trans. My issue is when ever i am cruising down the road under normal load or even like 10 to 8 inch of mercury in overdrive with the torque converter locked and I use either my horn, blinkers, or cruise control which doesnt work the torque converter will randomly unlock then lock. it will do this more then once as well. If I remember back before I was a ford fan, didn't they have a recall for this whole steering column module deal? Any input would be well appreciated. thanks guys

You have probably have a wiring problem in the steering hub and column. First off your "clock spring" in the steering wheel is bad. The Clock spring is how the controls on the steering wheel maintain electrical contact with the wiring harness in the column. If you look at the end of the shift lever there is a button on the end this button switches out the overdrive. The switch could be bad but it is more likely somewhere down the line. It can be a royal PIA but you will have to track the wiring fault down. The clock spring and the overdrive over ride button plug into block block in the column. Good luck
