Default Vibration

So I have a vibration in my 95 f150 between 25 and 35 miles per hour. It doesn't do it except for those speeds. I quickly inspected the driveshaft and all the u-joints looked ok without any slack. It does it even in neutral too. While rotating the tires today I noticed the wheel bearings were loose on the front so I am going to replace them tomorrow. Any other ideas on what it could be? Carrier bearing? Also is there a special tool for the wheel bearings?

Thanks
Brad

Umm there is a special tool for the wheel bearings. That is if you can see to get the damn c clip out of the I.D. of the hub and get that apart lol.. Idk if you can get by without the tool, i just happened to have one so i didnt bother trying anything else. its just a special socket with slots to fit the lock ring things that adjust the bearing. When i noticed my pass. side bearing was loose i just repacked and tightened it and 5k miles later, no problems.

Was there any play in the ball joints or was it just in the bearings?

No play in ball joints, just bearings. Sence they are only $10 or so I am going to go ahead and replace them. It's 4x2 BTW, don't think I mentioned that. I have the socket for 4x4 but it is too big for the hub on the 2wd.

Perhaps a thrown tire weight. Can you duplicate this up on stands? If so, will eliminate front tires and steering components.

Well today I replaced the front wheel bearings, that was so easy compared to 4wds!!! That took care of alot of the vibration as they were loose but it still had some vibration. Then I found that I had a bad u-joint in the drive shaft so replaced all 3 u-joints and the vibration is gone!

Thanks guys

I actually have the SAME problem. The entire truck vibrates around 37-50 miles per hour. Any slower or any faster and the vibration seemingly goes away. Do you think it's the same issue? It feels like the truck, from the front, is just vibrating. Almost like the wheels are trying to go different ways, although, that's probably not the case as I've been driving like this for over a year. And it's annoying as hell!

My truck, 1993 2 wheel drive F150 vibrates in drive OR coasting at those speeds.

Or U-Joints? https://www.f150forum.com/f10/94-f15...on-30mph-9933/

Might be like mine, needs a ring and pinion. Set the E-brake and put the truck in neutral. Then check the pinion for play. I can turn mine almost a 1/4 turn.
