Its going to shake and vibrate a little, as its connected directly to the powertrain without any real dampening. Obviously if its violent its not normal though. Does it glide into 4 low, or is the lever hard to get pulled out?

it goes right into 4L with no problem. would jack stands be secure enough to lift the back wheels off the ground to put it gear to get the wheel spinning? maybe i can see where the vibration is coming from...

sounds like the carrier bearing, i have this problem right now in my truck (till tomorrow when its fixed) my bearing went out about a week ago and started grinding bad. after about 30 miles of that, above 50 mph i start noticing a light vibration.

for my truck, the part, and the cost to take the old one off and put the new one on. $100 out the door with a 1 year warranty.

that sucks, might be the bearing on the differential then. does your drive line move at all? not talking about rotating.

no it doesn't move at all. only a little play when twisting. I guess i'll just take it to a shop and hope a mechanic can figure out the cause..

yea, the only thing i can think of if its not that, would be something wrong with your back breaks or one of your mounts for the transmission/engine.
