Seafoam first then clean the injectors with Lucas fuel additive...dont use Gumout or other brands....then check timing

I've never heard valve slap referred to as a ping noise. I think it' more likely ping that sounds like ping! Especially under load pulling a hill. I'd run a can of "Seafoam' thru the air intake to remove Combustion Chamber carbon deposits, and a bottle of "Lucas Injection Cleaner" in your gas to improve fuel atomization from the injectors. https://www.f150forum.com/f72/how-seafoam-eighth-gen-f150-1987-1991-a-31505/

Lower your timimg,or run higher octane! It's simple...

I had my timing at 19* But I was running 110 Octane,If I would go lower BOOM!

i tried higher octane, that didn't do it. i guess i'll have to mess with the timing then. i also had some injector cleaner put in when i got the truck last week

"Seafoam"! https://www.f150forum.com/showthread.php?t=31505 If you want to change your base time, you know to remove the SPOUT connector, right? 10BTDC is stock.
