Default Vacuum system

As far as i know, i have broken vaccuum lines. I was told that it is the reason my truck dies down everytime i crank it up. Could it also be the reason my gas mileage is so horrible?

Vacuum leaks can have a big effect on that but may not be the only problem. Eliminate the leaks first and go from there.

Yep. I bought 18 feet of vacuum hose and a few vacuum T's and vacuum adapters (large to small) and pretty much removed all of the stock vacuum hoses and the truck has ran great since. Just study the vacuum diagram under your hood closely before beginning it. It'll cost probably $20 bucks or so to do it, but it's well worth it. Also, run your new rubber vacuum hoses around the front of the engine instead of the rear as it is with the stock tubes.

You'll love how much better it runs. Also, one more thing I did was with some of the end fittings, I broke them off and inserted them into the new vacuum hose (they fit snugly) to avoid kinks in the new rubber vacuum hoses.
