Two weeks ago I my 1992 F150 4.9L died on me. I figured out it had no spark so I changed the coil. It didn't fix the issue so I was searching the net and found scannerdanner's videos and by following his tests, I determined that it was the Ignition Control Module. I replaced the ICM and voila, she starts right up.
With one issue solved, now onto #2. After starting, she runs at a very high idle, guessing at 2000+ rpm's. I could hear the air and located the source to be a connector at the rear of the engine behind the EGR valve. I put my finger on it an the idle came down to what appeared to be normal. My issue is that I can't find the vacuum hose that came off of the connector or where it may connect to at the other end. I at first thought it went to main vacuum tree but I traced the connections and no dice. Looking for some guidance on this one. I'm attaching a photo of the open connector, the main vacuum tree and the vacuum diagram. Should I just cap it? Or does it connect somewhere important that I just couldn't find?
Thx in advance.
