Default Upping the Displacement?

Is there anyway to up the displacement of my engine.

I have the 351w (5.8L) right now. Is it possible to machine it out to a full on 6.0?

OR am i just crazy?

You can definetly increase the displacement. Most shops won't reccomend you go over .060 becuase the piston walls get to thin and can;t hold the heat. I've seen 418 stroker kits for the 351. Thats as big as I would go.

you make a 351 into a 454 (7.4)!!! with the right block. there are several options with the stock block as well. I don't recommend any more than 0.030" overbore. That extra .030 thousands of an inch isn't going to make that much difference so why push it and risk overheating! (this might be alittle to technical but anyway, the real answer to a big bore is a race block were you can go from 4 to 4.125 etc, while that doesn't even sound like a whole lot, an extra 1/8" per cylinder over 8 cylinders is an extra inch of piston surface area. and that just increases the area the flame front has to push the piston down, in turn more force, more power!)

Default big displacement

Lot's of exciting performance out there. I took my 390 up to 427, but the 2009 performance catalogue has this beastie (pae 104. The block is only based on a 351, so they likely reworked the cooling to get more bore. With a stock cast iron block - I don't think many would go more than .060 over - then stroke it to a total of 390 something.
