Default upper spring seats

Just noticed that the upper spring seats on my 1995 f150 4 wd xlt automatic are rotted through from rust. It's a single shock system. Anyone have experience in removing and replacing these parts on both right and left sides??
Truck has only 68K but conditions in Western PA has caused rear spring shackles to rot out and now the front upper spring seats are going too.
If you have done a similar replacement, would appreciate hearing from you with any tips and an approximate idea of how difficult a job this would be. I'm a "nuts& bolts" weekend mechanic and if it doesn't require special tools and knowhow, I might try it myself.
Thanks for any direction and ideas.

its not to bad to do. just grind or drill out the rivets and then bolt the new mount in place with good grade 8 bolts. if you want to go to a dual shock setup now is the time. your front axle should still have the stud for the extra shock. just drop your shock and unbolt your coil then let the axle sag.

Thanks for the replies. Does the coil spring have to be compressed? Or do you just let the axle hang for removal? I'm not too sure how to handle the coil spring during the replacement process and I don't want to start a job that I can't finish.
Look forward to comments and your ideas.

No it doesnt need to be compressed. just remove the bolt in the top that has the coil retaining clip and then the big nut in the center of the coil and lower your floor jack till the spring comes loose. make sure your truck is high enough and supported well on jack stands. there isnt any tension on the coils really. your probly thinkin of struts which have alot of tension! and your shock should be removed but im sure you know that.
