Angry Turn signal problems

I have an 89 F150 and my turn signals do not work. But even stranger is when i turn my left blinker on my left side brake light goes out and the same for the other side when my right blinker is on. My emergency flashers work normal but these dont any suggestions?

Either the flasher is bad or burned out bulb.

Blinker fluid? Might be low.

Nah, seriously, I agree with the above. Or your relay is zonked. Or it could be in the steering column itself. Have you tried pulling back on the signal tree to use the lane change lights to see if that lights em up? I actually had to do that everytime I had to turn for a while because basic turn signal wouldn't work.

Check the flasher first, if that is good then the multifunction switch is bad.
