The 89 does not have a Mass Air Sensor, it has a Throttle Positon Sensor instead.

that would be a Speed Density System. It runs by way of Manifold Absolute Pressure. measuring the air into the manifold and heads instead of the initial air charge and exiting exhaust temps.

It is called the Thick Film Ignition module...provides some spark...my 88 F150 did it too...a real pain in the neck to diagnose at first as when it cooled down it was all good. I got used to waiting for 30 minutes on a hot day every once in a while!
