Default Transmission studder

Ok i have a 96 5.0 it runs great. the last year it has started to kinda jumble between gears mostly drive to over drive.(it is auto) along with that it Makes like a whine from a vacum leak but only when pulling a load.and only if i punch it?? I change the fluid and filter, and it is not really slipping. i have looked for like a vacuum control and not found anything like that. any ideas.. i figure its a syncro. if so how do you change them.
Thanks i figure you guys can help. any tranny shop just want to do a rebuild and im sure it doesnt need one.
