Default Transmission and rear diff upgrade?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to the world of automotive mechanics and need a couple of suggestions on what to do with my 94 f150. She has got the 351 windsor (5.8l) paired up to a 4eod transmission with overdrive. I'm planning on doing some work to the engine to get it to around 400-450 hp. I was wondering what the community at large would suggest for a transmission and rear diff or if I even need to swap either out? Any suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated.

The transmission probably won't hold up to the HP. The rear end I'd suggest a 9".

the ford 8.8 should be fine. i know people run them in built mustangs. what tire size you planning on running? the bigger the tire the easier it will be to snap an axle shaft. and the C-clips in our axles are the weak point

rim size wont have any effect on the axle shafts, i was thinkin if you were planning on giving it 450+ hp and run like 37+ tires idk how long the rearend will stay intact haha

I'm not really sure what tire size I'm going to be running yet, I hadn't thought that far ahead

Get the 8.8 rear built right . I used to race a 89 F150 302 with duel turbos and a zf 5spd . The rear was beefed up and never left me down . And mustang guys put way more through them .

If over 92 get a F250 rear and put 5 bolt axles in it . The speedo is ran off you rear
