trans swapping
i can get ahold of an AOD for free to replace my cooked E4OD. it comes from a inline 6 bronco. i have heard some mixing opinions on weather the converter from AOD will bolt up to my 351 flexplate correctly. can i use E4OD converter on AOD? i dont think so, but can i use inline6 flexplate on my 351?
not that it matters but how will the length differ from my origanl E4OD and Borg Warner, compared to the AOD with whatever backs it up. (both manual shift t-cases). will crossmembers have to be moved?
the linkage is a little different too. E4OD has 2 bolts for bracket where as AOD has 1. can i swap brackets and keep cables? or can i just bolt my E4OD bracket to the AOD?

Any small block trans will bolt up to any small block motor, bolt pattern is the same, just have to get the flexplate for the motor for proper balance, as far as the aod and aode, the aod has a mechanical linkage that makes the trans shift, the aode is electronic shift. If you want to use the aod, find an older truck with aod, get complete cable and all the brackets, including throttle bracket, or LOKAR who makes hot rod parts I believe has a kit for under $100.00.
And I believe the length of the transes should be the same.
