Default Trans swap

I bought a 94 f250 idi yesterday for $800 with a bad trans. It has the e4od. Can i put one from a f150 in if i change the bell housing. I think the bell housing just unbolts if its like the standards. Too me it would be a beater truck so i dont want to pay $500 for one that came from a f250 or 350.

E4OD is the same for a 150, 250 and 350.... only difference is Engine.... 5.0 and 5.8 take the same bellhousing.... 460 takes a bigger one...

One from a 7.3 and 460 should be the same right. What yr ranges will work. Assuming from late 80s to 96 where can i get an updated valve body so the trans dont go bad again.
