Default tranny question...

I have a 96 f150 5.0L 4x4 i need to know if a C6 transmission will bolt up to the 5.0, i have heard 2 diff things, so i figured i would ask yall this time.

Im not sure about 96 5L....but i have a buddy with a 84 5L bronco and it has a c6 in it. 4x4. hope this helps a bit.

The C 6 will bolt up if it has the smallblock bell housing.

What kind of tranny is in it now? From what I've understood if you've got an electrically controlled tranny like an E4OD then a C6 won't work since it isn't controlled by the PCM. It might bolt up but your check engine light will always be on. I'm not 100 percent on this, I thought would ask the question about the tranny you have now so someone who really knows has something to work with and can give you an answer.
