Default tranny problem?

have a 92 with straight six and auto tranny.ran and shifted just fine untill a day or so ago.now shifts hard, like from first to second REAL hard.second to third, not so hard but harder than normal, third to fourth, real nice.i mean it goes into gear NOW! not smooth transition like normal.like, boom, a jerk and your in gear.no hesitation,no slippage like from worn bands no noises like from wore out u-joints.also going into drive initially is pretty smooth, but a little harder than usual.is my tranny on the way out?what does a tranny cost nowadays anyway????help please???thanks in advance

i had my transmission rebuilt about 2 years ago for 1700 bucks. thats in my 96 f150 2wd automatic w/od. got a 4 year warranty with it. took about 4 days to get it fixed because pretty much everything that dealt with the transmission was bad/warn, had to replace all the grounds and wires going to it. make sure your fluid is at the level it needs to be, also smell your transmission fluid to see if it smells burnt at all. good transmission fluid usually smells like celery, atleast mine does lol.
