try probing the middle wire with the red lead and you are looking for .97 volts, not 9.7; you have to do it with the key on engine off, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. pm me and I will send you my cell number just in case you have any question's that just can't wait. as far as elongating the holes, if you are lets say getting .83 volts, just drill the metal casing out of both holes and that is enough to give it adjustablity. how many volts were you getting?

Default tps solved

had to buy another tps. dropped and stepped on the other one (cracked it) followed your sug. and new one to center wire read .78v. just by loosening the screws there was enough play to move it clockwise and get get .90v. the cel now does not come on and she idles fine and drives fine. i don't know if its worth it to drill it out just to gain .07v. i say leave it at .9v. whats your feeling?
regards, tony
