Default torque convertor stall speed?

I was looking around online (http://aodtransmissions.com/) and they list converters with a stall speed of 1800-3500, can someone explain the stall speed to me? what is the difference in an 1800 and say a 3500? what is the stall on a stock converter? I am not much on transmissions so i am retarted when it comes to this.

Stall on stock is around 1600, stall is the rpm the converter locks up, you do not want anything more than 2000 in your truck, 2200 is performance street strip, the purpose of high stall is to rev the engine to a higher rpm for a better launch within the power range of the vehicle.

I'd contact a convertor manufacturer and see what they're recommendations are.....try FTI Converters in Deland, Florida.
