no heat shields....and the radius are bushings are new...I even used Silicon on them so they wouldnt move or squeak...and be more flexible.

no fender bolts loose...checked and re-checked again...hangers are fine checked that too when I re-hung the exhaust...

I have rims w/ center dustcovers. They just snap in & over the years, they loosened up enough to rattle. Does the almost sound like a pop or snap or just a plain rattle?

You say you removed the shock, did the problem go away or just become less noticeable? Did you replace the shock and drive it? The reason I ask is I've had a similar problem twice before. The first was the shock bolt was corroded a bit and was not completely taking up the slack in the shock bushing. Second time was new shocks but bolt tightened by hand. Shock was rattling a bit, hit it with the impact and problem was gone. Not saying these are your problem, but a quick, cheap fix if it is.

the rattle is Definitely coming from the wheel area...it isnt the door stricker or bolt...my doors are tight...and adjusted well...

it is lower...I can feel it on the floor at times..but it sounds like a busted shock...and YES I did take the shock off and drive it and it still made the noise albeit less often and there was more bounce to the truck...

even tonight I was thinking chin spoiler or something but hell it sounds like a broken shock clanging...but you can stand on the passenger side and lift on the fender well and bounce the truck and not re-create the noise...it is only in forward motion...

possibly like a wrench in the fenderwell...

If its driving you so crazy, tie a video camera underneath and take it for a short ride going over small bumps. My money is on the coil spring. Try it and post the vid. That would be sweet.

Could be the crap inside the catalytic converter. Aren't you the one who said they only drilled holes through that stuff instead of removing it all?

i had that problem on a ford once, come to find out it was the bolt that holds the bottom of the front fender to the body.... the bolt had come loose.... i found that out when i swung my door open getting out.... the door pinched the fender and bent it all to hell lol

I took that all loose and it was all tight and it is especially tight now...the spring is turn exactly like factory and the hold down is tight...

yep that was me...but it isnt that..it would do it sitting still or wiggling the exhaust...no go there either...I only drilled the center and in fact I pulled the exhaust to check it last time we had this convo and it hasnt moved or cracked...it is the same shell with just the center hollowed out...

I am thinking I AM going to pull the whole inner fender well and try it...something is gotta be doing it...

I even thought the rubber flapper above the chin spoiler...I may bolt that down too just to make sure but that would be more center and this is DEFINITELY right lower side front...
