Default tires/wheels

hey guys, im new here and here is my first question...

i have an 89 f150 reg cab, inline 6, 5spd, 4x2 with the 8ft bed. 3.08 gears in the back(open). factory 15" rims with 235/75-15 tires...

what is the width of the factory rim?
what is the offset of the factory rim?
what is the largest width tire that can fit on this rim?

thank you much, look forward to learning alot on here

rj

i beleive the factory rim was 15x6 inch. can't help on the offset, sorry. the widest tire no more than 4 inches over stock width from what i've read,to prevent the center of the tires crowning. that still doesn't mean you can fit a 10" wide tire without a lift. an 8"tire would probably fit better.

i just recieved information on another forum saying they offered a rim in 15X7.5 for the 4x2 and 15X8 for the 4x4(the 10 hole rims)...

a 15x6 rim is realllly tiny for a truck...

anyone else that could confirm either of these sizes?

is there any info on the drivers door jamb on rim sizes? i had the same truck years ago as you, except mine was 4x4 and had 3.55 gears. if i'm wrong i'd appreciate the correction.

your above post made no sense, but ill try to decifer.

i believe your rims are 15 x 7. if not, 15 x 7.5, but doubt it. i wouldnt go with 32s with 3.08 gears. 32 isnt big by any means, but 3.08 is a high gear. but no, it wont rub except probably turning sharply
