Question tires and performance?

So far ive heard even if i have a 351 5.8L, my truck is still goin to run like a dead hog with 35 inch tires without new ring and pinion sets for my front and rear end. my truck is bone stock, although i am getting a 6 inch lift put on with 35x12.5 tires. my other question is if those 35's will look good with a 6 inch lift? will there be too much space? some help please

35's will look good.

i guess you need to understand why your truck is going to accelerate like a turtle.
its all the rotating mass you will adding. 35" tires weight alot more than stockers. It takes alot of torque to turn those big tires. Torque is nothing more than twisting or turning force. If you went to a lower gear (higher numerically) you would be increasing the torque multiplication that happens in the rear end. Therefore you would increase the twisting force required to turn those big tires.

before you put on larger tires, do this experiment...

At a stop, shift the transmission into 2. Accelerate as fast as you can. This poor acceleration will be what you will get out of 1 with your bigger tires. The way to fix that is to change your gears.

+1 on the 35's. Any bigger and you're getting into more drastic mods and expense to make it all work.

6 inches, 35's, and a re-gear ...oh - and a loud exhaust!
