Tips on replacing the fuel pump
Just figured out that I am going to have to replace both my fuel pumps. I have a 1992 2wd and it’s been stalling, jerking, and having trouble starting. Replacing fuel pumps is a pretty big job, and it looks like the easiest way is to take off the bed. Do any of yall have tips or tricks on doing it right?
I pull the driveline out and just drop the midship tank down to replace the pump, leaving the rear strap in place
Same with the rear tank pump
I drop the rear tank down just far enough to replace the pump
I can change both pumps in 2.5 hours doing it that way

I would check your fuel pressure first before going any further. Six cylinder should be 45-60 psi and eights should be 30-45 psi. It would be unusual for both low pressure pumps to both fail at the same time. There "might" be a high pressure pump on the frame rail common to both tanks. I am not sure if the 92's still have that.
If you do happen to change both tank pumps, loosening and sliding or removing the bed is the easiest way to go.Save youself some grief, only use an OEM, Bosch or Delphi in that order as replacement pumps.
