Can anyone give tips for getting better mpgs?

Right now im getting about 15 in a 1994 with 4.9 I6, 2wd, E4OD, 3.55 Reg cab, long bed, but i cant help but think i should be getting about 18. Now this is about 2/3 Highway driving, and im not to agressive in the city.

Any tips?

At some point im going to change the fuel filter, and the the air filter is in good shape. I keep the tires at 36-37 psi, so that isnt an issue.

 

Change the fuel filter, make sure the air filter is new, let the truck shift into 2nd at 20-25, third at 35, and OD at 45. I pull down 17-18 with that and stock tires, but with a 3.08 rear

 

heard good things about ignition system upgrade as well, also you might want to try seafoaming the engine, theres a thread on how to in the....wait for it....
