Default Timing Question

Hey quick question here. Its a 94 I6 and my dad owned the truck for the first few years of its life but now its mine. So I've been reading about the ignition upgrade with the timing bump is worth it so i was talking it over with him but he said he already advanced the timing but never touched the SPOUT plug.

So i was wondering what exactly the SPOUT plug does or even if the I6's had them, thanks.

If they advanced without touching the spout, it's not really advanced and it needs redone. I6's should have one.

Alright that's what i thought, do you leave the spout unplugged once the timings advanced?

No. Just to advance it. Then you put it back.
