Default thump/studder

when i go about 60mph its like the brakes grab or like it studders, the engine runs fine during these "fits" and i find if i go harder on the gas it goes away but any thoughts on this would be greatly apreciated.

thanks,

When you say "studders" do you mean it feels like hitting the rumble strip along the side of the interstate? That could be a trans. problem. Sludge build up can cause that and sometimes flushing out the fluid takes care of it. It could also be the torque convertor or a weak pump.
