Default throttle trouble

so i was going to my friends house the other day and as soon as i pulled out of my driveway, the throttle was sticking open. so i drove to his house with the engine at about 2 grand and riding the brakes the whole way (good thing he lives close). when i got to his house and looked under the bonnet, i noticed the throttle return spring is rusted and sticking open. i got a new spring from a junkyard but have no idea how to get mine off and the new one on. I have a 1994 f150 5.0.

Do you mean the return spring on the throttle body, or a spring on the throttle cable itself? First i would try and used lubricant to try and free the linkage and see it that helps.

Well first, with the truck off, i would remove the throttle body cover, the black plastic piece that covers the rest of the cable, use your hand and try and move the throttle back and forth and see if it is sticking and observe the springs, first try lubricant and keep moving it back and forth to try and free it. To replace that spring you will have to remove the cable from the throttle body with a small screwdriver ( do not pull on cable!) and everything should look straight forward from that.
