The tailgate on my '93 suddenly decided it won't release so I can open it. I've removed the access panel on the inside of the gate and can see that the rods are still connected and move freely but it still won't release. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

One of the rod ends that connect to the side latches must of came off...can't remember for sure, but I think you can remove each side latch and make sure the connections are made. Good luck and let us know.
