Question swapping out a long bed for a regular bed?

Is it possible to change out my long bed for a short or regular bed on my truck? I'm not a big fan of the long bed. If anyone has done this or know if it's possible let me know.

I'm not exactly sure where the wheel wells sit on each bed, but you're gonna end up with about 2 feet of extra frame either between the bed and cab, or between the bed and the bumper (or a little bit of both).

no that won't work, the wheel base's are different as well as the frame lengths

I too was actually interested in doing this. I was thinking take the difference between a long bed and short bed driveshaft, then cut that difference out of the straightest section of the frame (hopefully and probably on the cab side of the wheel wells) but then again im bagging my truck and will have my frame chopped for the bridge anyways.
