swapping distributors
Hello all, new guy here, joining to learn a few things I hope.
Just rebuilt a 351M from a 76 Cougar for my 87 F150. Things were going well at start up then she dies. It ran well for approx 3 mins, then nothin. Long story short I pulled the distributor which came from the 87 to find the shaft gears were eating away to the point that the rotor wasnt even turning. So I grabbed another distributor from and older f150 parts truck "78 I think, and am workng on getting her started again.
Question is: how much difference is there is these distributor shafts and gearing because they both seated well. Thanks
