Default swapping a dash?

Has anyone ever put in a newer body style dash into the older body style (92-96) trucks? I would really like to have a double-din opening in my 95 F150 XLT. I most likely could fabricate something but I've been reluctant to do that as I didn't want to alter the factory dash (just in case I have to sell the truck...no plans to but just in case).

Been searching for info on this but I can't seem to find anything. Anyone have any thoughts?

I don't think it would be worth it. Your doors won't match the contour of the new dash and it would look retarded if you sold the truck with a dash from a different truck. I wouldn't want to do ALL that work so I could put a fancy deck in my truck. I have a single din deck with a auto flip up touch screen in it and I'd say that would be your best route.

I chose soundstream because it had the biggest screen and offered backup camera and gps.
