was this supposed to hapen?
Doing the balljoints on my truck, and got the drivers side done moved onto the passenger side, went to pull the axle out and it just disconnected at the boot. I thought it would pull out at the pumpkin just like the drivers side. Is it supposed to pull apart there or did I just screw up my truck. Oh and any ideas as to how to keep the lower balljoints from spinning when tightening them down? I'm on my last one and its just spinning
also what size are the wheel bearings, they were almost about to fall apart on the passenger side. Thanks in advanced for any help

There's an E clip on the inside of the pumpkin on the pass side. You have to take it apart there. Just make sure you line the u joints up when you go back together.
Far as the joints spinning try an wedge something in there to hold it.
And the bearings...if you want to replace them just get the number off the bearings themselves. Probly just needed packed and tightened.

And for the bearings they are about to fall apart and one of them the metal has a chunk missing out of it
No you don't have to take the diff off...when you take a shaft apart like that you need to mark it so it goes back together the way it came apart. I know you didn't know but just make sure the caps of the joints are all facing the same direction. I'm not sure how else to explain it.
If the bearings are that bad replace them. Look on the bearing opposite of the taper side, there will be numbers. You need to knock the races out of the hub and replace those as well along with the seal. They will all have numbers on them.
