Me too...

In Maryland you cannot display any color(s) on your vehicle except red, white or amber(yellow). Blue is a color that is specifically designated for use on emergency vehicles and therefore prohibited for use on personal vehicles. The police can stop you and issue a citation for violating this law and also a repair order to have you remove the lights.

I am not sure about other state's laws, but I would think that many would have similar laws regarding this issue.

Hi folks,

I had always wondered why it was illegal for those lights to be displayed. I thought it was ALL colors were banned.

I can't understand why the cops would give a fat rats *** what lights you had on your vehicle. Just as long as it doesn't interfer with oncoming traffic.

Oh, just for the record, undercarriage lights... not my thing either... somehow or other, I think that I would bust them up within a week or so of having them. I am a bit rough on my vehicles. Also, I travel in areas where there is gravel roads. I am not sure how durable those lights are.

they are illegal with colors like blue and red because there are recorded accidents where older people missinterpret the lights as an emergency vehicle and pull off the road causing an accident.

and as far as durability goes, they definently hold their own for the most part.
