Not really crappy mechanical work, just a moron of a PO who didn't know anything about his truck. When I went down to buy my 1995 Flareside, the owner said the truck had a transmission going out, and all the electrics in the cab didn't work, but it did run and drive but it would kick you in the back of the head when it shifted. It was (externally at least) a clean truck, so I went down and looked it over, all the fluids were good, everything underneath looked decent, but when I opened the fuse panel (just for s**** and giggles to see if that's what was causing the truck to act so screwy), I happened to notice that nearly every single fuse was blown (which explained the electrics not working, and potentially the E4OD tranny acting all screwy) so I just handed him the $2,800 he was asking, drove to Autozone and got some new fuses to put in it, and the truck ran perfect for 4 1/2 hours on the way home. I feel like I came out of that deal pretty good!
