Default sticky lifter?

okay, this is off topic, but my fiancé has a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0 in it. has 242000 on it but runs good. the lifter is sticking and clicking pretty loud. ive used trans. fluid before (pour in engine oil for more detergent) to free it up. I was wondering if anyone knew any other ways to free it up? any help would be greatly appreciated. (didn't put it on a jeep forum because I know people on here would have the answer and I already have an account on here lol) THANKS!

Seafoam through the intake works pretty good. You sure its just a sticky lifter or could it be something worse?

sea foam in the intake will not do anything for lifters, lifters are part of the oiling side of the system,

BUT you can put it in the oil right before you change the oil.

get your engine up to operating temp then pour a can of sea foam into the oil, and run it again for about 15-20 min, mostly at idle but you can jump the RPMs occasionally, and hold it there for about 30-45 sec at a time.
then change the oil and filter.

use the trans fluid in the oil or Marvel Mystery Oil or Seafoam... drive it.

These 4.0 engines are prone to lifter issues and broken piston skirts. my daughter has an 2002 and the 4th cylinder back taps so hard you can feel it on the coil pack... even with MMO in it it still taps so I'm betting piston skirt...
