Default stereo help

need a real diagram of what each of the stereo wires does, colors and stripes. previous owner cut off the harness head and crimped the radio directally to the wires and is powered off the battery, im trying to rewire it so it turns on w/ the keys at least. its a 1991 f150

Just note the colors on the Ford DOES NOT follow the Electrical Wire Code standard. The red wire is NOT the hot wire it is actually a ground (power ground). The Green/yellow is the constant, yellow/black is switched 12V+, illumination is blue/red. The remainder wires will be your speakers 2-4. I only have two in my '89. If your colors are like the ones mentioned this is the correct sequence. If not, it should be similar. It took me a few days to get mine right due to the screwed up color codes. Hope this helps.

Yeah, the goats were pretty in to that diagram. Had trouble getting it away from them. As a pdf it was pretty nice, but converting it made it fall apart. I figured you would have something better anyway.

Npak, if you have any other questions about your sound system, Strangerous is a good source for this. He's got everything wired in to his ride....like toasters and flat screen TV's and stuff.
