Default Steering Column Swap

I have a 93 xl with a non-tilt column and I am wanting to swap out for a tilt. I have spoke to a few people that have told me that aside from an original column that one from an early model Taurus would bolt right in. Does anyone know if this is correct and is there any other Ford's that could be used? Anyone personally done this swap?

I know that I have pulled the column from a '96 taurus and it was the exact same basic column as the 92 - 96 f150. I would think sables etc would all use the same one. The extras that attach (like shift lever, multifunction switch, etc.) you would swap over from yours if they're different but the basic column itself looks to be the exact same one

Thanks Chris, I'm looking seriously into this swap and just wanted to verify it prior to purchase. I want to stay away from air bag systems not wanting to get envolved with any of that. Do you happen to remember if any of the plastic components can be used?
