Default Stater and Module

is it true if one goes out you have to replace them both?
i learned my stater was bad after puttin a module on it, i was told i got to now replace them both cause the bad stater made my module bad?
this true? plz in search of help

No. They just tend to go about the same time. So it's a good idea to just do em both when one of em pooches out. An error code scan should have exposed the PIP (stator) & most parts stores can test a TFI molule. When the PIP goes, the spark impulses drop out.
