Default starting problem

Hi im new here, i just bought a 1988 ford f150 300ci 6 cyl.

It will not start by turning the key but will start by crossing the solenoid. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be?

I have replaced the solenoid and it did not help.

Might be a bad ignition switch. Have someone turn the key to the start position and see if you have power on the small wire of the solonoid. It can be a neutral safety switch/clutch switch also.

Default same thing I had I bet

I had a yellow wire coming off the battery that went over to the firewall by drivers side I found there were 2 wires that didn't have power went back a bit and the connector that came from the battery side was literally fallen apart with corossion and then I found a second wire broken under the breather box
