Default starting chatter..

well, yesterday i installed my new radio head unit. unhooked the battery for the installation. hooked it back up and it sounds like the starter is grinding on the flywheel.

this happened last week when i did the same thing. unhooked the battery for the installation of my new door speakers.

originally, i thought my starter is bad. then me and my brother started diagnosing some possibilities, and we figure it could be the battery cable's and terminals corroded restricting the proper amperage to get the bendix out far enough. our reasoning is that it's a repetitive problem from when i last unhooked my battery and only happens when i unhook my battery.

though, it seems i know what the problem is, i just want some imput from you guys also.

Also check the terminals going to the solenoid, and the clicking is probably due to loose or corroded terminals.

stole the battery out of my sisters mustang and bessy started right up. went and got my battery checked and only had 88cca. there was my problem. not enough amps to get the bendix out.
