Default Stalling at idle and reverse

I have a 1994 5.0 f150 with an E40D and mass air. When I bought it, it would occasianally cut off in reverse but it has evolved to shutting off at idle unless I give it gas. Two days ago I noticed that when I floor it, it will start missing and not accelerate but I let off and it goes back to cruising. Is there any particular test I could do or do y'all know what it could possible be? Any help would be great. Thanks.

TPS is just a few months old and motorcraft. I dialed it in correctly as well. I can't seem to find the schrader valve for fuel pressure on the fuel rail. Also what should the correct pressure be? And couldn't it be my MAF sensor? The little wires inside of it have some corrosion

I would say fuel pressure as well. Find that valve. There is a picture and how-to guide here:

sounds to me that you're not getting enough fuel pressure to keep the motor going under load (when you put it in gear). Causes could be a bad pump, clogged filter, or a faulty valve some where in the system. Are you getting back pressure into any of your fuel tanks (ex. one tank filling up by itself from back pressure)?

Also, change the fuel filter. If you have the right tool its not very hard, and inexpensive. Its worth a shot.

Are there any engine codes?

I will test the fuel pressure with that guide later today. Thanks for that.

As a matter of fact, I am getting back pressure into my front tank, I put about 7 gallons in each tank the other day and I was driving on my rear tank, then the truck cuts off and I switch to my front tank and it starts up. When I got home I checked to see if there was any gas in the rear tank and there was nothing.

I have already changed the fuel filter.

No codes

I took the MAF sensor off to clean it and my friend broke a wire inside so he paid for a new one. It seems to be running a lot smoother now that I replaced that, it is NOT trying to die at idle or reverse. Ill drive it a little more tonight and see what happens. BUT it is still missing when I really get on it.. Any ideas?

since you are having back pressure issues going from one tank to the other, the pressure that the fuel pump should be creating is flowing into your other tank and not pressurizing the fuel rail when you need the pressure the most. Identify which tank the faulty shuttle valve is in, and replace it. I am pretty sure its inside the fuel pump module for your truck. You are better off just replacing the whole pump.
