squeeling noise
ok this has been happening for like 1 1/2 years and i checked out everything back when and eveything checked out fine, but i went under her to take another look and i found out that her front driveshaft for 4x4 is loose like no other mother, and i was wondering if that could be it, like when i went under her i could twist it a good bit, so i was wondering i that could possiable be it
Describe loose...It being able to turn in its intended range of motion isn't a bad thing, its necessary or it wouldn't function. Loose to me when talking about a driveshaft would be side to side motion, which would be a knock and not an annoying squeal.
I had a squealing noise on my 96 F150, almost 2 years ago. Another member recently posted a similar noise and his problem was the same as mine. That being that someone used the cheap bearing kits and the seals tend to separate and rub against the spindle causing the squealing noise. Mine was on the inner bearings.
well, its hard to explain but what i will do is take a video of me under her moving the driveshaft, and you can make a decision fomr that, but it also makes a grinding noise when i am backing up, like metal on metal grinding noise, that is what it sounds like to me
