sqeaky belt
i replaced the alternator, belt tensioner assembly, and the belt the other day. the only thing that made it stop sqeaking is the belt, so i took the rest of the stuff back and its been fine for a few days, now its sqeaking again.
any help is apreciated

Does the belt seem tight enough? Tensioners do get tired with time, and a new belt may have been a temporary fix until its 'new' wore off.
Recommend not to use any belt dressing, especially on a new belt. Results are typically only temporary.
Are the pulleys correctly aligned? Had an instance where the P/S pump was replaced and the pulley was not pressed on properly, resulting in a slight jag in the belt path.
Also, are the pulleys clean? Dirt and rust may contribute to squeaking.
Have you tried to isolate the sound with either a mechanics stethoscope or a sounding rod (I use an 18" socket extension)?

If you still get any noise after you replace the w/p and belt,i would check the idler pulley and check the air pump pulley while the belt is off for any play or excessive drag or resistance.
well i bought a gatorback belt, and a water pump.. once again i put the belt on and its fixed, but this time i put 75 miles on it between yesterday and today, previous belts its was a few miles and they were sqeaking again..
anyway well see how this works and if i need to replace the pump i have one ready to go... thanks for the help ill update this if i have to replace the pump as well.

I had the same problem....My belt was chirping, so quick trip to AutoZone for a new one...A/Z belt chirped as well...Returned it for refund, and obtained a different brand belt from CarQuest...C/Q belt chirped also...Returned it for refund and obtained OEM belt from Ford... Ford belt chirped also, got a refund and then bought a "GATOR" and it has been quite as a mouse for over a year now.
