Default spout connector for timing?

So do I just disconnect the spout connector, advance the timing, then plug it back in? I've already did the ignition upgrade this morning but couldnt advance the timing to much without pinging.

You have to un-plug the spout to set the timing. After you've set the timing, plug the spout back in.
