Default Spout Connector?

1995 302 2wd auto. I have the Chiltons manual. Makes no mention of the word SPOUT anywhere in the manual.

I see a timing mark on the flywheel, I see the bolt for the distributor, I know the timing is supposed to be 10 BTDC

So... what is this Spout connector and is it something I should be concerned with on a 1995 with a 302 in it?

if i remember correctly to change the timing you have to pull the "spout" connector its a small grey plug plugged into two wire near the firewall on drivers side
