Default Speedometer Truck

Just got back from two months at sea and was driving back to school when I noticed my speedometer was reading zero. Couldn't find anything in the useless Haynes manual. It seems to read when im making sharp turns i.e. out of driveways but not when driving. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I THINK that your speedo reads off of the rear diff.. Might have a shop make sure the rear speed sesor is working. Is there an ABS light on?

Prolly not that then.. Get a speedo from a salvage yard and see if that takes care of it. If not you are not out much, then its got to be the speed sensor.. Yours might be run off the transmission. I just can't remember.
