Default Speedometer Problems

my speedometer willrandomly start working fine and last fr a few days or so and then it willgo a little crazy and then just totally quit all together, and then radnomly start working again can anyone help me out

The Great Kreskan has left the building, so your going to have to actually tell us the year & engine.... wait a minute....... it's coming to me.......... it's a........1987.......302!!!! Wait, No, that's my truck! I got nothin!.........Unless it's a 1994, 300ci? No, 1992! Deffinatly a 300!

ill take a stab at it.... i say the speed sensor on the top of the rear diff is bad.

Hope it didn't hurt! I have a VSS on my Diff & the transmission, and neither have to do w/ my speedometer reading because the speedo is mechanical.

same vehicle here but mine just hesitates(sticks) @ around 33-34 mph for a sec never really bothered me too much

Is the harness connecting to the back of the gauge cluster loose? That could do it
