Default spedometer and radio issue

so i have two 1992 flaresides. they both have the same issue with speedometer and radio. they just quit working. at the same time both just quit. they speedometer still lights up, but doesn't show any mileage, and the radios dont do anything. they are both aftermarket, but nothing works on them. any one got some ideas?

Here is what I just ran into with my 93, the fuse that does the dome light and is the temp memory to the odometer was removed. I added it, then wierdness happened, the radio stayed o. All the time, the wipers would work with no key in it. WIERDNESS. I look behind the radio and it is a mell of a hess. Factory harness cut, power coming from the cigar lighter, just wierd, I cut the radio out entirely. Cool no more wierdness. I add the facoty harness and an adapter and plug the radio back in and pop there goes 2 or 3 fuses. I replace try again and pop. Hmmmmm, so I replace, cut the memory clock feed from radio and no more blown fuses. Touch it back and pop. So. I had a radio with a dead short in the memory, clock circuit. I now have a different radio with no issues.

i got it figured out. i bought the truck with an aftermarket alarm system onit. who ever the hell installed the dam thing didn't know what the hell they were doin. they just fuse hitched all the power for it instead of installing seperate fuse's for it. it fixed my speedometer radio and transimission when i took it out. but i still think i need a new radio cause only one speaker in the truck works. the drivers side rear. none of the tweeters the two front ones or the passenger side rear speaker work. but the rest of the truck is running fine now

The dome light didn't work unless the key was in on accesory or on did it? Ant it only worked with the pass door that way.

Hmmm mine did the same thing i have an aftermarket JVC radio in it and i have the harness tied in but after awhile the connections started to come loose and i replaced the harness with a new one and it worked... And P.S. DONT USE TWIST WIRE CAPS they slip off and can cause that. so i would use crimp caps or crimp splices.

Inside fuse panel #8 top fuse second from the left or thats where it's at on my 92.

Someone had installed a security system on mine and a radio and had shorted it out melting the wires (green&yellow). Radio, speedometer, odometer, interior lights, cruise, buzzer and mirrors none of those worked. Took the better part of a day to rewire and get eveything working.
